Alessandro Carparelli lives and works in Milan. He studied piano with Maestro Nino Mantegazza and composition, harmony and counterpoint with Maestro Walter Zaramella. Author of symphonic and chamber music. His compositions, neoclassical style, influenced by modern and contemporary authors, are characterized by abundance of  compelling and evocative melodies, daring harmonies, alternating with simple harmonic sequences, seemingly trivial choices but with the specific intent to involve the listener by linking him to unconscious patterns, rooted in Western historical music. On the occasion of the sixty-eighth Venice Film Festival he was awarded the prize for best first opera, creating the music for the film  Dietro il buio  by Giorgio Pressburger,  adapted from a play by Claudio Magris. He also tried his hand at composition for band, producing songs dedicated to the Passion of Christ, performed by the Brass Band of the Navy of the city of Taranto, on the occasion of Holy Week.
